Family, Love

The Best Dad is Papa-Daddy

We miss you very much.

Virgin Mary Church on Nile

Every time I answer the phone, Sebastian looks at me, waiting to see whether his Papa-Daddy is on the other end of the line. He puts his ear in the cradle, turns toward it and smiles. Sometimes he laughs. Sometimes he tries to say the words he doesn’t know how to say. Sounds come out and I know Papa-Daddy is smiling on the other end of the line. Sebastian can still be silly with his Papa-Daddy across oceans.

Papa-Daddy went back to Cairo at the beginning of June to finish up his job. The Sharp family will be reunited the weekend of August 7th in Toronto. We are counting the weeks. And then the days. But we have a ways to go yet.

We love you Papa-Daddy! Thanks for taking care of us. Every day. In so many different ways.

  1. I’m about to cry thinking of you guys separated for so long. You’ve done it before, though and you do it beautifully, staying strong. We miss you, too, Papa Daddy.
    Hang in there!
