Toronto Islands

Photo flashback!

For Father’s Day we took the ferry over to Toronto Islands for the first time. We started with a picnic on Centre Island by the water and then wandered thought the area with rides and a small farm. We skipped the rides and discovered some fun animals to watch. Seb really enjoyed the chicks in the barn and was later amused by the two Emu’s who seemed interested in him in-between their sand pecking. We walked through the Franklin Children’s Garden, to the Gibralter Light House, past the clothing optional beach (not in view) and on to Hanlan’s Point, which was a much smaller ferry departure point so we got to be outside and get a great city view. It was a fairly overcast day which made it much cooler. But I was still unable to avoid the swollen feet. Even after a quick, cold soak in the lake. Being on the islands felt like a day trip outside the city, right at our fingertips! Looking forward to exploring again soon.

  1. I love Centre Island! Person pushing wheelchair is free (when he is using it). I had my camp there last week for swimming.

    1. Yeah, we presented our Access to Entertainment Card from Easter Seals and I think we both got through free, just one adult ticket. It was such an easy trip for the afternoon. Looking forward to going back.

  2. Toronto Islands are my all favourite getaway spot! I am able to recharge like nowhere else. Have you ever been to the Toronto Dragon Boat Race ? It’s an exciting event, I’m sure Sebastian would have a blast watching the boats!
