Home.

Last night Seb came home. Here he is getting ready to leave the hospital, first time out of his hospital room in two days!

Here Tallula and I are receiving the news. She spent most of the day sleeping and hopefully is on her own road to recovery. We may have to return to the doctor in the morning to double check those ears.

This is the smile we didn’t see for 3 plus days. Every time I turned around last night it was there to greet me. Seb and Ali took a cab home and we were all reunited around 6.30pm. I was so happy to have Seb home. Tallula was happy. Ali was happy to be home. But the happiest was Seb.

I check the monitor on my bedside table and he’s snug in his (nice and very clean) bed. We will all wake up refreshed together today. Christmas Eve!

We really felt the village around us these past days. Near and far. Thank you. Your thoughts, prayers, and kindnesses gave us that extra bit of strength when we needed it most.

From our family to yours, Merry Christmas and happiest of holidays.

  2. So relieved to read this post. I don’t know if my previous comments went through, as we’ve been traveling without consistent coverage.

I am in awe of the way your family stays present to it all, and shares the pain/sorrow AND the joy…both are REAL, and I can imagine that by expressing it ALL, you can move through it more easily.
